These terms explain how therapy and training bookings work, what you can expect from Greyspace, and what happens if plans change. They also cover use of our website.
1. About Greyspace
Greyspace is the trading name of Greyspace Therapy Ltd. We provide therapy and training for individuals and organisations in the United Kingdom.
Greyspace Therapy Ltd
Registered in Scotland: SC844995
Registered office: 54 St Quivox Road, Prestwick
South Ayrshire, KA9 1LU, United Kingdom
Email: hello@greyspacetherapy.co.uk
2. About our therapy service
We offer one-to-one online counselling for adults aged 18 or over in the United Kingdom. Sessions take place over Microsoft Teams and last 60 minutes. A free introductory conversation lasts 30 minutes, with no obligation to book further sessions.
Therapy provides a confidential space to explore difficulties and work towards your own hopes. It does not guarantee a particular outcome and is not a replacement for medical care, diagnosis, prescribed treatment or emergency help. We may suggest another service if we believe your needs fall outside what we can safely offer, and we will discuss that with you where possible.
Greyspace is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent health advice in Scotland call NHS 24 on 111; Samaritans can be reached on 116 123.
3. Therapy bookings and payment
A 60-minute therapy session currently costs £80. Your selected counsellor, appointment details and total fee are shown before you confirm and pay for your booking.
Paid sessions are booked and paid for in GBP through our online booking system before the appointment is confirmed. Payments are handled by Stripe. We will send confirmation to the contact details you provide. Please ensure your details are accurate. Price changes do not affect appointments already confirmed and paid for.
4. Cancelling or moving a therapy session
If your plans change
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please contact us at least 48 hours before it starts. With this notice, you can choose a full refund or move your payment to another available session.
With less than 48 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend, a charge of up to the session fee may apply to reflect the loss caused by the cancellation. We will take reasonable steps to reduce that loss, including trying to fill the appointment where practical, and take account of any replacement booking or costs saved.
We know unexpected things happen. Please get in touch about exceptional circumstances so we can consider these fairly.
If we need to cancel
If Greyspace needs to cancel your appointment, you can choose a full refund or another available appointment. Refunds are made to the original payment method where possible.
These arrangements do not affect any statutory cancellation rights. See section 11 for more information.
5. Attending online
Please join from a private space with a suitable internet connection. Sessions normally start and finish at their scheduled times; if you arrive late, we may be unable to extend the session.
If a connection fails, we will try to reconnect or agree another practical way to continue. Where a problem on our side means we cannot provide a meaningful session, we will offer another appointment or a refund. If a problem on your side prevents you from attending, please contact us so we can consider the circumstances fairly.
6. Training enquiries and bookings
Private group training
Contact us through our Contact Us form so we can discuss the course, group size, delivery format and suitable dates. Sending the form does not confirm a booking or require payment. Before a booking is confirmed, we will agree the course, date, format, price, included materials, any venue or travel costs, payment arrangements, and terms for rescheduling, cancellation and refunds in writing. Please check the proposal before accepting it.
Open training sessions
When places are available, we may publish a link to that session’s Eventbrite booking page. The course information, price, payment process and booking-specific cancellation and refund terms will be shown before you complete an Eventbrite booking. Please read those details before paying. A place is confirmed when the booking process provides confirmation, rather than when you click the link on our website.
The 48-hour therapy appointment policy does not apply to either type of training booking. If Greyspace cancels training, you can choose a refund for the training we have not delivered or accept an available alternative date. You do not have to accept an alternative. Refunds are processed through the relevant booking channel where possible. Applicable statutory rights remain in place.
What training provides
Our training supports learning and the development of practical skills. Attending a course does not itself qualify you as a counsellor or clinician. Any course-specific attendance, completion or certification requirements will be explained in the course information before booking.
7. Privacy and confidentiality
We handle information about therapy clients, training participants and organisational contacts as described in our Privacy Policy.
Therapy confidentiality
Therapy is confidential, subject to legal duties, serious safety concerns and safeguarding responsibilities. Your counsellor will explain the counselling agreement and confidentiality boundaries when you begin working together. We do not record counselling sessions. Brief, confidential counselling notes use a client code rather than your name, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Privacy during training
Training participants should respect each other’s privacy and avoid sharing identifiable clinical information about third parties. Please do not record or photograph training sessions without prior agreement. Any proposed recording by Greyspace would be discussed and agreed with participants beforehand. Please do not record therapy sessions without discussing this with your counsellor and reaching an agreement in advance.
8. Ending therapy
You can decide to end therapy. You and your counsellor can discuss a helpful ending where possible. We may also end or pause work if it cannot be provided safely, is outside a counsellor’s scope, or appointments are repeatedly missed; we will try to explain the reason and discuss suitable next steps.
9. Questions and concerns
If something about therapy, training or your booking has not felt right, we would like to hear from you. You can raise it with your counsellor or facilitator, or email hello@greyspacetherapy.co.uk.
10. Website and content
Website information is general and does not itself create a counselling relationship or confirm a training booking. Please use this site lawfully. Greyspace owns, or has permission to use, its original site content and branding; please ask before reproducing it for commercial purposes. External sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
11. Your legal rights
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Statutory cancellation rights
Some consumer services booked online or at a distance carry a 14-day cancellation right from the date the contract is made. Whether this applies depends on the service and circumstances. The regulations contain exclusions, including for qualifying healthcare services; we do not assume that every therapy and training booking has the same cancellation rights.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, it takes priority over conflicting booking-specific terms. You can exercise it by sending a clear cancellation request to hello@greyspacetherapy.co.uk. You do not have to use a particular form.
Before starting a service within an applicable cancellation period, we will obtain your express request where required and explain any proportionate charge if you cancel after work has begun. Where applicable, loss of the cancellation right on full performance requires your prior express consent and acknowledgement. Any statutory refund will be made within the legally required period.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Scots law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
12. Keeping these terms up to date
We may update these terms for future bookings. The terms made available when you confirm a booking, together with any booking-specific proposal, apply to it unless we agree otherwise with you.
